... and zap ...
... cancer victims with as much radiation as they can stand despite knowing that many of these cancers would never pose any risk at all.
They know as well as you and I that breast and prostate tumors in particular grow so slowly that you'll often die of something else long before that cancer ever turns dangerous.
They know all that... but they operate anyway.
... - there are now 1.3 million women (and counting) who have been given breast cancer treatments they never needed. And millions of men are battling the emasculating side effects of prostate cancer treatments...
...
A new survey finds these doctors are seven times more likely to report a bump in pay when they oversee patients' treatments than docs who are on salary and make the same income no matter how much (or how little) they do.
Again, no big surprise there. Docs who do more, earn more -- in the best of all worlds, isn't that how it should be for everyone?
Here in the world we actually live in, on the other hand, being paid per treatment means NOT being paid when you DON'T provide treatment -- and since you can't pay for a Porsche by letting money walk out the door, these docs find a way to treat everyone.
And that's why docs now routinely hack off boobs, slice up prostates, and zap cancer victims with as much radiation as they can stand despite knowing that many of these cancers would never pose any risk at all.
They know as well as you and I that breast and prostate tumors in particular grow so slowly that you'll often die of something else long before that cancer ever turns dangerous.
They know all that... but they operate anyway.
And so you get what we're seeing today. As I told you recently, there are now 1.3 million women (and counting) who have been given breast cancer treatments they never needed. And millions of men are battling the emasculating side effects of prostate cancer treatments they didn't need, either.
